The Way of Dreams and Visions Workbook LESSON 2 Practical Project
Write down an example of the most recent internal dream you have had. Internal Dream: Taking your dream above, answer the following: 1. How did you identify this as an internal dream?
2. List all the characters and symbols that stood out in your dream. Then next to each character, make a summary of your relationship with that person in the natural and try to identify which part of you they could represent.
Symbols:
Character | Summary of Relationship | | | |
As we continue I will help you identify the characters and symbols in your dreams a little easier, but the key for now is to identify those characters that are often in your dreams. If you find yourself having a dream with symbols that you do not understand, look into the Word for your answers. GMR Publishing has the GMR Study Bible available to make searching for specific words in scripture easy. (Find it online at: www.gmr-publishing. com)
If you already have the study bible, then look up more examples of dreams in scripture. Look up the words 'Night' and 'Vision'; 'Visions' and 'Bed'; 'Dreams' and 'Dream'. You will be amazed to see how much the Lord used dreams to speak to His prophets through the ages!
LESSON 5: Tapping Your Inner Resources
It is vital that you learn to tap what the Lord has put within your spirit, if you desire to hear His voice and move into that wonderful relationship available to us. If we look at the natural, what would you say is the best way to get to know someone? When you first met your spouse or fiancée what did you spend a lot of your time doing? Well if I go back to my engagement to Craig, I remember us talking for many hours about everything you could think of! Nights seemed to just slip by into early morning as we found out more about each other. The more we spoke the more we discovered how much we had in common! We dreamed about what it would be like when we got married one day and what we would do. We never seemed to run out of things to learn about each other and each day was a new adventure! Well getting to know the Lord Jesus is just like that! Only you can never run out of things to find out about Him! On top of that, He never tires of listening to you and knowing all He can about you! It is a love affair made in heaven! It is within your reach if you have that desire in your heart. So just as in the natural you spent hours talking and sharing, so this week I want you to spend time every day talking to the Lord!
Here are some guidelines to follow: a) Find a quiet spot where you will not be interrupted. Unhook the phone if you have to!
b) Take out a notebook and pour your heart out on it to the Lord. Speak to Him as if He was standing right in front of you. Do not be afraid to say exactly what is on your heart. He is faithful and has tremendous patience! So say everything you always wanted to say.
c) Then as you finish pouring out your heart, quiet your spirit and wait for Him to speak back.
d) He might speak in visions, in words or just in impressions.
e) The key here is to just pour out as you feel the surge within. If you see a picture, then just describe it.
f) Do this every single day for a week. Twice daily if you can. I guarantee that by the end of the week you will already be beginning to walk in a closer relationship with the Lord! Journaling is very much like speaking in tongues! You might need to make the effort with the first few words, but as the Holy Spirit takes over your tongue, there is no stopping Him! Journaling is the same, you might feel like you are making up the first few words or sentences, but as you continue to write, you will find words and pictures coming to you that you did not originate.
